The second annual Icon Collective scholarship contest winners have been announced! Congratulations to Dan Pak and Brian Bucio who will be joining Icon next quarter as students in our online program, "Icon Interactive".
After watching hours of amazing videos filled with SO MUCH passion and some really great stories, the Icon team chose Dan Pak as the recipient of the "Morgan Page Scholarship" (watch his reaction above). Although summer has been dominated by the unexpected arrival of Apple’s Logic Pro X, there have been plenty of other notable releases in the last few months, too.
Without doubt, the next most significant product launch of recent weeks was the hugely anticipated Pro Tools 11 ($699). Like the new Logic, the latest version of Avid’s industry standard DAW ditches 32-bit compatibility completely, requiring all third party plugins to be updated to not only AAX format but 64-bit, too. Icon Collective is proud to announce that four current Icon LA students will be playing at the Dov Fest music festival this Saturday, August 24th, 2013. Jack Chilcott and Andrey Surkov, together known as “DVNT MINDS”, Garrett “Many Fiend” Robledo, and Keen Chen of “Masterbeaters” will all be playing sets at the event.
